We already have direct high-speed trains to travel between Spain and France. Thanks to the cooperation between Renfe in Spain and SNCF in France, the access between these two countries is simple and fast. The journey between Barcelona and Paris, for example, only takes 6 hours and 19 minutes. It is not surprising that this route receives more and more users. This line has been underway since 2013. There are also other connections to Paris, from Madrid getting through Barcelona.
Take the Renfe-SNCF train and visit one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Paris is a city that does not disappoint. A city full of art, impressive architecture, parks and monuments as well as a fantastic gastronomy and an unequalled cultural agenda. This city on the banks of the Seine River will enchant you and you will be embalmed by its romanticism and beauty. At night, Paris is also very pretty especially by the lights that are reflected on the Seine.
The train leaves the passenger at the Paris Gare de Lyon station. As in other major cities, there is more than one train station in Paris. We have the Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est, etc. And all are very well connected with public transport. The main entrance of the Gare de Lyon station is at Place Louis-Armand.
This station stands out above all for its bell tower. It is a rectangular tower and there is a clock of almost 7 meters in diameter on each face. This beautiful station was built to unite Paris and Lyon in 1855, hence its name. In 1871, because of a fire, the station was partially destroyed. A posteriori, it was reconstructed following the original plans and was practically the same as it was before the fire.
In 1900 the Universal Exhibition was hosted in Paris and visitors arrived at a new station designed by Marius Toudoire with 13 routes. The facade and the famous clock tower would show off. The same year, the underground station was inaugurated with a subway station that is part of the first Metro line in Paris. Until 1981 the station did not undergo many changes but in 1981 it was necessary to install 5 new routes for the arrival of the TGV.
